About BBC’s “The Adventures of Merlin” (2008-2012)
“The Adventures of Merlin” or just “Merlin” is an epic period drama TV series from the BBC. It is about the adventures of young Prince Arthur, the future king of Camelot, and Merlin the wizard, and how he became the trusted advisor to King Arthur in a land and time when magic was strictly outlawed. Merlin learns to use his magic carefully to help those around him while hiding his secret.
The epic 5-season series is created with beautiful cinematography, choreography, costumes, filmed on-location in France, and contains original and realistic story lines that reflects the original folklore of Merlin and Arthur. The series also features other folklore figures including Guinevere and Lancelot. It is a favourite of audiences from all backgrounds and ages because it covers a range of real-world topics, from love and loss, to conflict, morals, comedy. and good times with friends. War and conflict is tastefully presented and suitable for children while still being interesting to adults. I highly recommend the series.
