About Pretty Woman

“Pretty Woman” gives the gritty world of prostitution a romanticised makeover. It’s a modern take on the rags-to-riches Cinderella fairy tale. Vivian Ward is a down-on-her-luck down to earth girl who is making ends meet by working as a prostitute in Hollywood. A chance meeting with a rich businessman, Edward Lewis, changes both of them after Edward asks Vivian to be his companion while he is in town.

“Pretty Woman” is a rom‑com that teaches us not to judge a book by its cover… unless the cover is designer and costs more than your rent. It’s a movie where money talks, fashion transforms, and everyone suddenly becomes polite once you’re wearing the right dress. Love it or side‑eye it, this popular movie was a massive hit at the time of its release, becoming one of the highest grossing films of the 1990’s and is widely regarded as a romantic comedy, inspiring even musicals.
